About the event

Simon Stevens, NHS England CEO, welcomed DevoManc as ‘the greatest act of devolution in the history of the NHS’.

With six billion pounds health and social care funding devolved to Greater Manchester by April 2016 and as further regional devolutions emerge post-election, this seminar explores the critical role for research and innovation in these policy initiatives.

It will address:

  • How academic health science assets and infrastructure will drive and underpin the success of these initiatives.
  • How evaluative research can improve, validate and spread the ‘Manchester experiment’.
  • How DevoManc can inform the challenges and opportunities of other devolutions

Introduced and chaired by Mark Easton, BBC Home Editor
